Sam ‘Ace’ Rothstein (Robert de Niro) is a professional gambler who always has everything under control. When he bets on a football match, he’ll exactly know the slightest details, for example, which of the players has trouble at home. Thanks to his professionalism, he is asked to lead The Tangiers, Las Vegas’ biggest Casino. His friend Nicky (Joe Pesci) is his personal bodyguard. When ‘problems’ occur, Nicky deals with them, using any means at his disposal. To the casino’s and the mafia’s profit, Ace becomes a huge success. But then he commits a big mistake: he falls in love with the wrong woman. Ginger (Sharon Stone) is a woman he does not control. His carefully built imperium crumbles. |
