In a bold move that might have forever changed the outcome of World War II, Hitler orders the SS to find a way to kidnap Winston Churchill and bring him to Berlin. This seemingly impossible task might be the only way for Colonel Steiner (Michael Caine) to redeem himself after he protests about the treatment of Jews. The Germans' chance arrives when they are able to take over the small town of Studley Constable which Churchill will be visiting by posing as Polish soldiers. The plan might work, except that the locals become aware of the German's real nationalities when one of them rescues a local girl, dying in the process and his German uniform is revealed. One of the local residents escapes when everyone is gathered up. After she reaches the U. S. Ranger base, first Colonel Pitt (Larry Hagman) and then Captain Clark (Treat Williams) make attempts to free the city of the German invaders. Will Churchill escape capture?
