A wooden chest found buried in a sandbox on a playground in central Stockholm. Inside the coffin is a renowned prosecutor. Beck and his team finds to their horror that the prosecutor has been buried alive. They'll find links to a motorcycle gang where the leader recently has been released from prison. When the leader later found murdered in a similar wooden coffin investigation takes a new direction. More coffins are discovered around Stockholm where all the victims have been murdered in the same painful way. Beck realizes that they are chasing a sadistic serial killer who plays a game with them and is always one step ahead. When will the killer strike again and who's next?
